Creating an account, downloading the beta, or using the service means you accept these terms. If you are using Wrengle for an organisation, you are confirming you are allowed to agree to this on its behalf.

Accounts

  • You do not need an account. The local vault and offline-capable features work without one; cloud AI still needs your own eligible provider key.
  • If you create one, give accurate details and keep your sign-in method secure.
  • Anything done under your account is your responsibility, so tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into it.

This is free beta software

Wrengle is unfinished software that we give away for free. The app has no subscription, no licence key, and no paywall. The one thing you can pay for is Wrengle AI credits, covered below, and they are optional — the same features work with a provider key of your own. Features, file formats, integrations, supported platforms, and hosted services can change, break, or disappear while it is in beta.

Keep your own backups of every vault and anything you care about. The built-in note history is not a full backup. Please do not make Wrengle the only copy of anything regulated, medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, or otherwise high-stakes.

Optional sync and shared vaults

Sync is off by default and free while Wrengle is in beta. You turn it on per vault from Settings → Account in the desktop app, and it keeps that vault's notes, charts, whiteboards, whiteboard images, note YAML frontmatter, and folder structure the same on your own computers, including documents you do not have open. Attachments outside whiteboards do not sync. It is not a backup and does not keep server-side version history.

Where team workspaces are enabled, Wrengle stores workspace names, membership, roles, invitations, and vault assignments to administer access. Workspace admins can access all team vaults; members access only assigned vaults. Team-owned content survives an individual account deletion. Removing access stops future sync but cannot erase downloaded files. Workspace image allowances are separate from personal allowances, and AI credits remain personal.

Where sharing is enabled, a vault owner may invite up to 20 editors. Editors can read, modify, and delete all synced content. The owner's sync entitlement and storage allowance cover that vault. Removing an editor stops future sync within five seconds and does not erase downloaded local copies. Deleting the owner's account removes their remote shared vaults. Ownership transfer and read-only viewer access are not available.

When you turn sync on, you allow us to store and transmit those documents to operate the service. Server copies are encrypted in transit and at rest, but Wrengle can technically read them for that purpose. Your files remain yours. Turning sync off keeps your local files and does not delete existing server copies; removing a vault from the server deletes its copy after 30 days, and deleting your account removes your synced documents from our database. Whiteboard image storage has a default retained allowance of 1 GiB per account and an 8 MiB limit per image. Removing an image from a drawing does not immediately remove its retained server bytes. Keep independent backups of your local vault.

AI, transcription, and other companies' services

AI-written text, summaries, actions, and transcripts can be wrong, incomplete, or inappropriate. Read them before you use, share, or act on them. Getting whatever consent is required to record or transcribe a meeting is your responsibility, as is picking a provider and setup that is lawful where you are.

Identity, model, and transcription providers, sync tools, external agents, plugins, and integrations are run by other companies under their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control whether they work or what they produce. What Wrengle sends where is set out on the Privacy and AI and Security pages.

Wrengle AI credits

Wrengle AI is the alternative to holding a model provider’s key yourself. You buy credits up front and running a request spends them. There is no subscription, nothing renews on its own, no included free balance, and no overage plan: when the available balance cannot cover a request, it stops until you top up. The text-only hosted mappings are Fast to OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Luna, Balanced to GPT-5.6 Terra, and Deep to GPT-5.6 Sol; the service reports which priced tiers are currently enabled. A clean install starts assistant chat on Fast; upgrades keep their saved explicit or Automatic route, and you can switch providers. Automatic itself never selects managed AI, and a managed request does not fall back to a key of your own or another destination. Using your own key instead costs nothing here and is billed to you by that provider.

Polar sells the credit packs as merchant of record under its own terms, and it is Polar that takes payment and issues your receipt. Credits are a prepaid balance for use inside Wrengle. They are not money, they have no cash value, and they cannot be transferred or exchanged. Credits you have bought do not expire. Signing in, starting a trial, or waiting for a renewal does not create free credit.

What a request costs depends on the tier you pick and how much you send, at the rate we publish. We can change the price of a pack and the rate a tier charges; a change applies to what you buy or spend afterwards, never backwards to a balance you already hold. If an order is refunded, the credits it bought come off the balance, which can leave it below zero until you top up.

Credit checkout and hosted generation are separate capabilities. If checkout is unavailable, an existing balance and usage ledger can remain visible without a purchase control. If hosted generation is unavailable, buying or holding credits does not make a request run.

We limit how much one account can spend in a day, and we can suspend Wrengle AI for an account being used to abuse the service. Both are about protecting the service, not about rationing what you paid for.

What you must not do

You must not:

  • break the law with it, use it to defraud anyone, or infringe someone else’s rights;
  • put material through it that you have no right to use;
  • probe, disrupt, overload, or work around our security, sign-in, rate limits, or access controls;
  • spread malware with it, or use it to harm people, systems, or networks;
  • pass AI output off as verified fact where being wrong could hurt someone; or
  • resell the hosted account service, or otherwise provide it to other people, without our written permission.

Who owns what

Wrengle itself — the app, the website, the branding, and the original software — belongs to PLIXO LABS LTD or the people who licensed it to us. While you follow these terms, you may install and use the beta for your own lawful internal purposes. That permission is personal to you, cannot be transferred, and we can withdraw it. Open-source components keep their own licences.

Your files and everything you write stay yours. We take only the limited rights we need to handle what you deliberately send to the account, sync, or support service. If you send us feedback, we may act on it without paying you or keeping it confidential.

Stopping

You can stop using Wrengle and delete your account whenever you want. We may suspend or close hosted access where we reasonably need to — security, legal obligations, abuse, a serious breach of these terms, or simply ending the beta. Your local files stay yours either way, along with whatever backups you kept and whatever you already installed.

What we do and do not promise

The beta is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we are not promising it will keep running, be free of bugs, be secure, work with every system, or suit any particular purpose. Checking the output, keeping backups, paying your own provider bills, and standing behind decisions you make using it are all on you.

Nothing here removes liability that cannot legally be removed. That includes death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, and your mandatory rights as a consumer. Beyond that, PLIXO LABS LTD is not liable for indirect or knock-on losses, lost profit, lost business, missed opportunities, or data that is lost or corrupted while using the free beta.

Law, changes, and getting in touch

These terms, including disputes that are not strictly about the contract, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any court that has jurisdiction under applicable law can hear a dispute, and your mandatory consumer rights — including where you can bring a claim — are unaffected. If one part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.

We may change these terms as the beta develops. The effective date above tells you which version you are reading, and we will surface significant changes through the website or your account. Questions go to support@wrengle.com.
